Overview
The Loire Valley is a captivating blend of history, culture, and natural beauty-perfect for those who appreciate both majestic châteaux and the serenity of lush landscapes. Just two hours south of Paris, this region, long favored by French royalty, is home to some of the most magnificent estates and grounds in the country, where history and horticulture come together in perfect harmony.
On this 7-day tour, you’ll explore the enchanting city of Tours, with its impressive cathedral, medieval streets, and lively culinary scene. But it’s the surrounding estates that truly showcase the Loire’s splendor. Visit the world-famous Villandry, where the meticulously designed ornamental grounds and vegetable terraces are as much a work of art as the châteaux themselves. Wander through the stunning Chenonceau gardens, where grand floral displays and carefully planned landscapes stretch alongside the River Cher. Azay-le-Rideau and Langeais offer equally breathtaking scenes, with their beautifully cultivated parklands and scenic views.
Beyond the châteaux, the vineyards of Chinon and Bourgueil are a must-visit, where the rolling hills and vine-covered slopes form a picturesque backdrop for wine tasting. The region’s markets, riverside guinguettes, and local interactions invite you to immerse yourself in a lifestyle that honors both its historical legacy and the land that has nourished it for centuries.
Whether you’re wandering through elegant garden rooms, strolling along scenic park pathways, or simply enjoying the grandeur of centuries-old estates, this tour offers a rare opportunity to experience the Loire Valley’s harmonious blend of history and horticultural beauty-a perfect escape for lovers of culture, nature, and refinement.
